human understanding will always fall short because of its obvious limitations, the religious authorities in jesus’ time completely missed the scriptures pointing to him, blinded by their human viewpoint and consequential selfish needs, the people ultimately discarded him as their saviour in favour of a revolutionary who was never heard of again. the disciples? whilst watching the news this morning i discovered there is now virtual reality (v.r.) goggles for going down a water-slide which has tremendous pleasurable possibilities! it reminded me that in these days of ever increasing technological breakthroughs we are increasingly living in a world of virtual reality as the film, the matrix so vividly showed. this development will undoubtedly lead to a significant increase in the number of thrill seekers who seek to escape their stress filled jobs/humdrum life. they will have all the excitement without any of the life threatening dangers that normally accompanies this type of activity. virtual reality has indeed spread from gaming to physical activity, what next i wonder?
